Blog

For 2026 and Beyond.

What's Hood?

So last year I had this plan to drop a single every month. I kind of quickly let the initial enthusiasm fade from my mind because I started becoming preoccupied with bullshit negative thoughts like, “that's played out, this isn't the blog era,” etc.

However, I'm really at my wits end with rap music in general if I'm being honest. I got scammed in November by some fuck ass rapper from Atlanta whom I'm not gonna name until a later time if necessary. That event made me wanna say fuck it and quit, but I keep going because I think I have this weird punishment kink or some shit. Why else would I keep going when I got scammed out of almost a grand?

Anyway, I decided probably then that 2026 is gonna be my last year making rap or pursuing that as a “career," so this year is me putting my money where my mouth is even if my output is slow as all Hell.

I dropped Moments in January and IKNOWUAINT in February. Check those out if you haven't already. I just dropped Flows yesterday as I'm writing this and I don't know what's coming for next month, but I think I'm going to up the ante with it and do a single per week because why the fuck not? Who says I can't besides some dickhead YouTube expert?

I'm sick of following standards of the “industry” or just non-spoken rules or just my own self-doubt in general. Doing that time and time again is going against my NAME for one thing and also, fuck people and their wack expectations of what they think an artist should be doing.

So I'll keep it moving until then.

Peace.

What's Next?

So I'm still currently promoting this Heater EP. Props to everyone who's streamed it or downloaded it. Appreciate that. If you haven't checked it out, please do so. I worked hard on this shit. We wanna release physical versions of it, but time will tell. As far as what else we got coming in the pipeline, it's yet to say. May be an instrumental jawn or some rap shit. I don't know yet. If y'all feeling Heater, lemme know. Drop a comment or something.
Peace.

It's February 11th. Here's an update.

As some of you may already know, I've got a new single online called “Sixty-Five,” which I've been pushing for I guess about 2 weeks now. I'm still not where I need to be in that regard, but I'll keep pushing forward. Trust when I say I've got more music in the pipeline. I'm gonna just drop singles for the time being until the summer. Hopeful to finally perform at some venues here soon. Those of you who keep track of what I'm doing, just watch my pages. New single on the way. Also have a couple EP's in the works for the summer and fall.

Also listen and share the singles, if you really like what I'm trying to do here.

Peace.

An introduction of sorts.

It's been a long while since I actually cared to stay up after work and attempt to make a dent in any aspect of this “creative” thing. This post is really just for the uninformed reader, listener, etc.

I go by the name Ruelz Rekka. Pronounced “rules," but most people have a harder time pronouncing the “wrecker” part. I really don't remember how I came up with this name. Been using it since 2008 and it just stuck. Before that I went by the name Drumatic ("drew" + matic) and earlier than that, Syke D. Even before that, I was just calling myself The Violent One or Violent One.

Fuck a name though. That's not the point here. I started rapping at age 12 in middle school as some inside joke that some asshole classmates had. I was clueless, but since I was already kind of familiar with the idea, I rapped some bullshit they wrote for me and I expected everyone to just laugh at me. However, they didn't and I guess that gave me an idea. Initially, my thought was “I could rap and be famous," but that obviously changed well over time.

Saying my age now, I'm 36 and that's all I'll say. Seems kind of pointless even now to pursue the idea of being a rapper, but here we are.
